Best Dog Bars in Pinellas County
Barks & Brews

Living in Florida means we get to spend a lot of the year outside, so naturally our dogs want in on the fun too. And Pinellas County has taken “dog-friendly” to an entirely different level.
I’m not just talking about restaurants that allow your dog to sit under the patio table. We have actual dog bars places where you can grab a drink while your pup runs, plays, makes friends and lives their absolute best life.
Whether you’re in Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Largo or St. Pete, here are some dog-friendly spots worth adding to your list.
Neighborhood BarK & Boutique | Safety Harbor
I’m starting with this one because it’s exactly the kind of local spot I love finding and my personal favorite.
Neighborhood BarK combines an off-leash dog park, bar, coffee shop and pet boutique into one seriously cute Safety Harbor hangout. There’s an outdoor off-leash yard where your pup can burn off some energy while you relax, plus an indoor air-conditioned bar area where dogs stay leashed.
And yes, you can absolutely go even if you don’t have a dog. No judgment if you just want a drink and some free puppy therapy.
The boutique portion makes this one especially fun because you can browse treats, toys and dog accessories while you’re there. Your dog can even get their own doggie beer. Because apparently our dogs have better social lives than we do now.
They also host events, so it’s worth checking their calendar before visiting.
Why I love it: It feels like a neighborhood hangout rather than just a giant dog park and being in Safety Harbor means you can easily turn it into an entire afternoon exploring downtown.

Barks & Brews Taphouse | Largo
If you’re closer to the beaches or western Pinellas, Barks & Brews gives you another true dog park + bar experience.
This 21+ spot combines an off-leash play area with a taphouse serving beer, wine and food. Dogs need to be registered to use the off-leash area, and day passes are available. There’s also indoor seating, TVs and a more relaxed neighborhood-pub atmosphere.
This would be an easy stop after a beach day when you’re not quite ready to head home.
Why go: Off-leash play for them, drinks for you. Everybody wins.

Dog Pub Social | Dunedin
Of course Dogedin has its own dog bar.
Dog Pub Social is a 21+ dog park and bar built around supervised off-leash play and a social atmosphere for both dogs and humans. You don’t actually need to bring a dog to visit, either.
They regularly have events and meetups, making this one especially fun if you’re looking for more of a community atmosphere instead of simply grabbing a drink.
Why go: A fun Dunedin atmosphere with structured off-leash areas and plenty of opportunities for your pup to socialize.

Mutts & Martinis | St. Petersburg
Florida gets HOT, so naturally someone decided dogs needed their own water park.
And I fully support this decision.
Mutts & Martinis combines a sports bar with multiple off-leash areas and a chilled dog pool/water park. There’s plenty of space for pups to splash and play while their humans grab cocktails, food or catch a game.
Dogs need to be registered and have current required vaccinations uploaded before using the dog areas, so this is one you’ll want to prepare for before showing up.
Why go: Your dog gets a pool day while you get a martini. I’m not sure Florida gets much more Florida than that.

The Dog Bar | St. Petersburg
The name pretty much tells you exactly what you’re getting here.
The Dog Bar combines a full-service bar with more than 4,500 square feet of fenced off-leash space covered in Astroturf. During peak times, staff members known as “Wooferees” monitor the dog park.
Dog memberships are required, and pups over one year old need to be fixed and have current vaccinations. Humans need to be 21+.
They also host events and rotating food trucks, so this can easily turn into an entire night out instead of a quick stop.
Why go: This is one of the classic St. Pete dog-bar experiences, especially if your pup loves socializing.

Know Before You Go
One important thing about dog bars: dog-friendly doesn’t necessarily mean you can simply walk in and immediately let your dog off leash.
Many of these businesses require registration, vaccination records, day passes or memberships, and some have age, spay/neuter or temperament requirements. Rules and hours can also change, so check the individual business before heading out.
Bring water if needed, poop bags, your dog’s vaccination information and most importantly a pup who is comfortable around other dogs and people.
Drinks Are Better With Your Best Friend
One of my favorite things about exploring Pinellas County is finding businesses that aren’t just dog-tolerant but actually create experiences around them.
From shopping and coffee at Neighborhood BarK in Safety Harbor to doggy pool days at Mutts & Martinis and drinks surrounded by pups in St. Pete, you don’t always have to leave your best friend at home when you want to go out.
So grab the leash, pick a spot and let your pup have their own Florida adventure.
